jazzfounderstance Jazz is a 3 year old black & white Tennessee Walking Horse that came into our rescue and was severely foundered on her front hooves. We are using the barefoot trim for foundered horses and she has come a long way! We have her on Devil’s Claw and other supplements to help with the pain and new growth of her hooves. She wears boots, off and on, and is walking much more comfortably than she was when she came in. She is walked every day to put circulation back into her hooves so they will heal more quickly. We are in hopes that she will be completely out of pain and walking much better w/in the next year. Founder comes in various stages, and in Jazz’s case, was a very severe case, which might take up to a year to heal. Her hoof needs to regrow, and she is doing that very well. We are seeing her progress and are sure that she will recover fully and have a productive future.
