T-DOT

T-DOT, named after TN Dept. of Transportation, because they were taking the owner’s land to widen the road, had been hit by a car after being run through a fence by another horse at midnight on April 25th, 2011.  He’s only 2 and a half and just a pony stud colt. We were called by the owner who wanted to do the best thing for T-DOT because they just didn’t have the finances to pay for the vet.

Dr. Alex Dulaney came out and looked at him and didn’t seem to feel he had a good prognoses.  So the volunteers and I put our heads together to try to create a sling,  if we had to keep him off that leg. But after the x-rays were looked at, Doc Alex found out that it’s just a tear in his tendon and a bone chip.  He suggested we keep him in a stall, no bigger than 10×10.  He needs time to heal.  He may always be lame, but he can live out his life as a horse and pet.  We’ll see…..miracles really DO happen here at Mustang Alley Horse Rescue!!

If you’d like to help with T-DOT’s medical expenses, please donate, as all donations are tax deductible and most greatly appreciated!

He had some serious wounds that need special care.
