Work out in the fresh air, do some heavy lifting, stretching and walking. You’ll be doing something good for yourself and the horses!

We currently need help with barn and farm work seven days a week, year round. Volunteers generally help with chores from 8-11 am and 2-6 pm each day, so there are plenty of opportunities to lend a hand! Mustang Alley Horse Rescue enlists the skills and diligence of a large team of volunteers that devote their time to preparing feed buckets, cleaning and filling water trough mucking stalls and pens, as well as keeping the barn clean and organized. Though these tasks may seem inconsequential, they are a very necessary part of keeping our horses happy and healthy. Interested volunteers also help with fund raising efforts, membership and mechanical related farm tasks. MAHR welcomes volunteers with varying degrees of experience. New volunteers are evaluated and assigned specific duties based on their horse experience and innate abilities with our animals, as determined by staff. During your initial volunteer sessions, you are scheduled with a seasoned volunteer. This experienced volunteer is responsible for your preliminary training, acquainting you with MAHR’s policies and procedures regarding barn and farm chores.
